Consumer goods firm Clorox Company has topped the 2024 list of the 100 Most Sustainable US Companies compiled by Calvert Research and Management. The annual list evaluates companies on ESG metrics and rates, ranking them according to their progress against sustainability categories aligned with financial materiality. “We are proud to announce this year’s list, which recognises companies that are successfully addressing the sustainability considerations material to improving long-term shareholder value,” said Von Hughes, Managing Director and Head of Calvert Research and Management. “Calvert has an innovative research system, with an intense focus on financial materiality, depth of coverage, and comprehensive, proprietary data analysis.” The system effectively identifies high-performing companies that can be catalysts for positive change, Von Hughes explained. Personal care company Kimberley-Clark and real estate firm CBRE Group were respectively ranked number two and three on the list.
