Impax Raises €459m for Energy Investors Fund

Impax Asset Management’s fourth private markets infrastructure fund – New Energy Investors Fund IV (NEF IV) – has reached final close at €459 million (US$497.8 million). The fund offers a diversified pan-European portfolio with select US exposure, targeting investments in commercially proven sustainable technologies such as onshore wind, solar PV and small-scale hydropower, as well as selective investments in adjacent sectors including decentralised generation and energy efficiency. NEF IV investors include a mix of institutional investors geographically, comprising pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, asset managers, and family offices. “Successfully closing the fund, close to its target size and approximately 30% larger than our last fund, is testament to the team’s ability to execute the investment strategy and deliver for our investors,” said Daniel von Preyss, Head of Private Equity and Infrastructure at Impax. “The market environment for investing in new energy infrastructure in Europe remains highly attractive. Overall, Impax’s New Energy strategy is well-positioned to capitalise on these favourable tailwinds and support the energy transition.”
