The Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS) has appointed Sabine Mauderer as its new Chair and Fundi Tshazibana as Vice-chair. Mauderer has been a member of Deutsche Bundesbank’s executive board for more than five years and served as the network’s vice-chair from 2022 before replacing Ravi Menon as chair. In addition to her role at the NGFS, Tshazibana is Deputy Governor at the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) since 2019 and serves as Chief Executive Officer of its Prudential Authority. She joined the SARB in 2018. In the past two years, the NGFS has welcomed 29 new members and five observers, bringing its total number to 134 as of late 2023. Outgoing chair Menon said: “Sabine and Fundi will bring the NGFS to new heights and advance this important work of greening the financial system in support of the transition to a more sustainable planet.”
Today, the NGFS is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Sabine Mauderer and Ms Fundi Tshazibana as the new Chair and Vice Chair of the Network, succeeding Mr. Ravi Menon, who served as the Chair of the NGFS in the past 2 years.
