Nest, the UK’s largest workplace pension scheme, has appointed Chloe Horne as Responsible Investment Manager, with a remit to lead on managing social risks in its investment portfolios. Horne joined from the UN Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI), where she was Senior Stewardship Specialist. During her five years at the PRI, she played a key role in the expansion of its Active Ownership 2.0 framework, as well as on the development of its ‘Advance’ human rights collaborative stewardship initiative, and its work programme on investor action on diversity, equity and inclusion. Prior to joining to PRI, where she also served as Co-chair of the internal employee engagement committee and diversity working group, Horne worked at the Financial Conduct Authority, the UK’s financial regulator. At Nest, which manages £36 billion (US$45.7 billion) in assets on behalf of a third of the UK’s workforce, she will develop policies on the scheme’s approach to managing social-related risks and opportunities, and help manage its stewardship and reporting activities focusing on social factors. Horne will report to Diandra Soobiah, Nest’s Head of Responsible Investment.
