South Pole Selects Board Chair

UK carbon offsets provider South Pole has selected Dame Inga Beale as the new Chair of its board of directors, working with the firm’s CEO Daniel Klier and the wider executive team to steer the group’s growth. Starting next month, Beale will add leadership and governance experience, strategic direction and oversight to the company, helping to ensure long-term success as carbon markets and corporate sustainability practices mature. Her career spans over four decades, with senior leadership roles at large organisations such as General Electric and Zurich Insurance. Beale was also the first female CEO of Lloyd’s of London, the world’s leading insurance and reinsurance marketplace. At those firms she focused on strategy, risk mitigation and regulatory compliance, as well as delivering business transformation plans. Beale will replace Christoph Grobbel, who held the role for nine years. “[Inga’s] proven leadership and vision will be instrumental as we chart a course towards sustained growth and, in the long-term, innovate for impact,” said Klier. “I am looking forward to working together as we strengthen South Pole’s resilience and create positive outcomes for all our stakeholders.”
