Following the publication of its final recommendations in September, the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) has released draft sector guidance for eight priority sectors. The sectors, including oil and gas, metals and mining, and forestry and paper, have been selected due to their high impacts and dependencies on nature. Each guidance document outlines sector-specific approaches to applying its LEAP approach, core global disclosure metrics relevant to each sector, and illustrative lists of environmental assets, ecosystem services, impact drivers, risks and opportunities, and response actions. It has been designed to complement the finalised TNFD recommendations and LEAP’s existing guidance and disclosure metrics. The consultation is open to feedback until 29 March 2024.
